I tied to shake,
to yell,
to shock,
and to provoke,
to virtually slap,
to dance around
stepping on the toes.
I really tried!
I cried,
I wept,
I didn't sleep,
I felt, and felt, and felt again
straight in the middle of my chest...

I talked to people in my brain,
I called them back into themselves,
I called them to listen not
to the TV - an idiot box
